BG Football 2021 Resolutions

I just wanted to write down my ideas for some good goals/resolutions for 2021. I want to see this program get to the moon and these 5 goals in no particular order, would be a great start.

1. Keep building the culture
  • Loeffler needs to keep stacking recruiting classes and filling the roster with “his guys”. These kids understand the slow burn process and are dedicated to seeing Bowling Green back on top of the MAC. So far, it is really only kids from the Jinks era that keep transferring out.

2. Recruit speed and playmakers
  • BG is in dire need of guys that can make plays and score. That means more speed for the wide receivers and better speed in the defensive secondary. BGSU has had one wide receiver touchdown in the last 17 games, which has to be some kind if record. The Falcons secondary has not be great either so some more speed would help contain the ever so dangerous slant route we cannot seem to stop.
3. Hit the weight room hard
  • I mean, the downfall of this team since 2015 has been getting bullied on both sides of the trenches. In the NFL and in college, winning at the trenches dictates 90% of games. Great linemen and a solid QB will go far in the MAC.
4. Win a game or two
  • Gotta get the boys a taste of victory here. Obviously the kids know this is a rebuild but getting a taste of winning and seeing some success first hard is huge for confidence and building the culture.
5. Figure out the QB room
  •  I know I know, McDonald looked terrible last year. However, he did make some great throws and had nothing to work with. This team needs a leader, so Scot must figure out the QB situation and get it right this year. I would like to see Matt McDonald out there again, but I am also interested in Riley Keller, Drew Gunther and Tucker Melton. Those young kids could have some spunk and provide a spark for this team. Keller and Melton will be true freshman and Gunther a redshirt freshman transfer from Syracuse recruited by former Falcon Coach Dino Babers.

  1. 2. Tae'Shaun Johnson is that dude. He should walk onto campus and immediately be the fastest and most electric player with the ball.

    5. I'm looking at La'Bronz Davis because I like the way he can throw on the run as well as change arm angles and still deliver an accurate ball.
