Karl Brooks Drafted in 6th Round

For the first time since the 2019 Draft, BGSU has a player selected. Karl Brooks was taken in the NFL Draft 2023 by the Packers, Round 6, Pick 179th.

Karl now gets to live out every football player's dream of going to the show. He now joins James Morgan, Scott Miller, and Chris Jones as the only former Falcons drafted since 2010. I was hoping Karl would go in the 4th but not getting a combine invite really seemed to have an effect on his stock. Regardless of round, this was massive for Karl and his family but also for BG football. In the portal era, we very well may see fewer G5 players drafted as they may have transferred up to a P5 school. Brooks embodies the blue collar spirit of Bowling Green, trudging through the dark days of BGSU. The Falcons had a record of 10-31 from 2018-2021 before Karl's best year in which he posted 10 sacks on way to Bowling Green reaching a bowl game for the first time since 2015. A 2 time Captain, this is just an awesome day for the Bowling Green Football family.
