BGSU 2025 Staff Set

BGSU 2025 Staff Set Eddie George Finalizes 2025 Staff      Coach George has finalized his staff for year one in the Eddie George era. The 4 coaches retained from Coach Loeffler's staff   as we discussed are Alex Bayer, Derrick Jackson, Greg Nosal, and Brian White. This is crucial because the culture here is straight up elite as molded by Coach Loeffler, zero quit all hard work. Very smart of Coach George to retain 4 previous coaches. Coach George also brings in Bruce Johnson from Central Connecticut which I like because every other assistant comes from Tennessee State which can be awesome because they were winning but could also lead to a lack of innovation and missing out on great coaches from across the country. Especially considering the weight the name Eddie George holds across football.      From TSU comes Brandon Fisher, Joe Bowden, DeWayne Alexander, Josh Crawford, Travis Partridge, Richard McNutt, and Clyde Simmons. The main highlights he...

Eddie George To Retain 4 Coaches

Eddie George To Retain 4 Coaches     4 BG Coaches Reported to be Retained     According to Football Scoop, Eddie George is retaining Greg Nosal, Derrick Jackson, Brian White, and Alex Bayer from Coach Loeffler's staff.      Alex Bayer in my opinion was a must keep for the new staff. A former player who won the 2013 MAC Championship with BG and had a cup of coffee in the NFL, he was coaching special teams and tight ends. The special teams was fantastic over the past 4 years under Loeffler and this staff and Harold Fannin just had BG's first All-American season under Bayer and so this move made all the sense in the world. Derrick Jackson coached this secondary that had the most takeaways in all of FBS, Greg Nosal has done a great job with the O line and co coordinating the offense. Nosal has been here for the rebuild, joining the Falcons in 2020. Brian White joined in 2022 and was a long time Loeffler guy at Florida and BC and he seems to be beloved by t...

Eddie George To Become Next Bowling Green Head Coach

Eddie George To Become Next Bowling Green Head Coach!!! (George as Tennessee State HC)     Eddie George is set to become the next HC for our Falcons per the Toledo Blade. I only heard his name come up in the last 30 hours or so and now David Briggs from the Toledo Blade reports it is a done deal as George beat out UMass OC Mike Bajakian and Oklahoma State QB Coach Kevin Johns. I was initially hoping we stole Mercer HC Mike Jacobs because the number one thing I wanted in our next coach was previous head coaching experience. Given the new names including Minnesota's DC and Kentucky's Associate HC I then was drawn to Kevin Johns who has a lot of OC experience and could utilize a running QB. However quickly after Eddie George was brought up I sold myself that this would be a great hire.  Background:      Eddie George is a legendary Ohio football name. He won the 1995 Heisman trophy with Ohio State and then was a 1st round pick to the Houston Oilers. George wou...

Transfer Portal 2025

Transfer Portal 2025     The transfer portal in my opinion is fun, good for players, and actually helps a school like Bowling Green.      The portal also has so many opportunities for different players. You have studs from the G5 move up to the SEC, P5 backups dropping down to start at G5 schools. You have FCS starters jumping up to FBS, also FCS backups who would rather be a backup at a FBS school. Many casual fans do not realize how valuable depth guys are and scout team players truly make big differences in practice. Even G5 guys would rather be a backup at an SEC school. So in my mind, the portal is a plus value.      This list may not be 100% accurate but is updated to the best of my knowledge. I am going to give my opinions on each player, not meaning any disrespect but just an honest assessment of each player...
