Which MAC Program Won the 2010s?      This was something I composed while I was missing football and the 2020 season was seemingly cancelled. It is a pretty good list with fair rankings and an actual formula attached to it for objectivity. The formula is simple 1 point for a win 5 points for going at least .500 in MAC play 10 points for a making a bowl and losing 20 points for making a bowl and winning 20 points for beating a P5 team 25 points for finishing in the Top 25 30 points for making the MAC Championship and losing 60 points for making the MAC Championship and winning     The idea behind those numbers is pretty straightforward. Winning the MAC is the goal of every team, every year. Therefore winning a championship and winning the division should be highly rewarded. Winning bowl games and beating P5 teams brings prestige to the conference so they are a solid 20 points a piece. Same goes for finishing ranked which is worth 25. I thought about making P5 win...

2023 Early Schedule Preview      I want to start by saying that predicting the MAC is IMPOSSIBLE. It is why the MAC is my favorite conference, the parity is insane. NIU won the MAC and then went 3-9. Ohio went 3-9 and then won the MAC East. BG even went 2-6 in MAC play and then 5-3. It is truly so difficult to predict especially with transfers now being a major part of G5 football.      Onto the schedule, it kind of stinks BG only has 5 home games and the toledo game is on a weeknight again which is terrible. The 5 home games is just a product of having to play 2 money games and then our G5 non-con is sometimes home and sometimes away. My win range is the same as last year, 5-7 wins is what I could see. BG was 5-2 in one score games last year and that is a tough thing to repeat. Coach Loeffler Contract Situation I recently read a well written article on the BG Media site about whether or not Coach Loeffler should be given a contract extension.  https://bgfalconmedia.com/147506/sports/should-bgsu-give-scot-loeffler-a-contract-extension/        While I do think it is well written, I think it is flawed. Mainly being the recruiting rankings brought up. I am going to say something that many fans will disagree with but here we go... RECRUITING RANKINGS DO NOT MATTER IN THE MAC. Again, this is ONLY in the MAC. In the SEC, it matters. In the MAC, every school has similar money, resources, and talent pool. The difference is a recruit rated an 83 vs an 80 is basically nothing. The article brought up that BG is 11th in the MAC right now. However, 247 team rankings show that BG has 14 commits, Eastern Michigan has 22, so of course BG will be behind.
