BGSU 2025 Schedule Preview Football is just a couple days away for the Falcons and it is time for me (the #1 BG expert) to predict each game the boys will play this year. We have finally left the dumpster of FBS football and have made 3 straight bowl games. With Coach Loeffler off to the NFL it is time for legend Eddie George to steer the ship.  Game 1: Lafayette 1–0 This is a dub for the boys and I think by a lot. The line is -14.5 right now and I would be a bit worried if BG cannot win by at least 17. Lafayette was just 2–4 in the Patriot league last year and that is not a good FCS conference.  Game 2: at Cincinnati 1–1 This is a loss. I would be shocked if this was a win. BG under Coach Loeffler pulled upsets like this off at Minnesota and at Georgia Tech but I have to pick this games based on the most likely scenarios.   The 2025 college football season starts in less than a week! Week 0 is not the true start of the season to me but it is a cool appetizer. I will probably even write up all my straight bets throughout the year. I was red hot last year in my win totals, a perfect 8–0. Despite missing the first half of the season with basic training, I crushed the straight bets as well throughout officer candidate school. I guess the gambling fortunes were on my side!  Last year’s win totals:   Vanderbilt Over 2.5 (win) 6–6 Michigan Under 9.5 (win) 7–5 Army Over 6.5 (win) 10–2 Navy Over 5.5 (win) 9–3 ULM Over 1.5 (win) 5–7 New Mexico Over 2.5 (win) 5–7 Bowling Green Over 6.5 (win) 7–5 Eastern Michigan Over 4.5 (win) 5–7 Most of these were super easy.   FBS Bowl Droughts I have taken a lot of time to go through all the bowl history of 136 FBS teams. Some people may not care about all the bowls, but these players, coaches, and fans truly do. Making a bowl game is an amazing reward for many teams in the sport, and I want to starting keeping track of all the teams that are in my “bowl drought” category. To me, this means going 4 years or more without a bowl appearance, aka the amount of time for a fan and a lot of players to go through college. Obviously, this is not a list you want to be on. Bowl Drought Teams (Last Bowl Year) Going into 2025, this would be any team that has not made a bowl since 2020 or longer. Only 9 of 136 FBS teams are in a bowl drought, 8 of which are G5 teams. ACC Stanford (2018) Stanford is a train wreck right now. Somehow Frank Reich is the head man on an interim basis while they search this year.
